Season of the Stitch
The Importance of Visual Content

The Importance of Visual Content

These days, people avoid reading long articles. They tend to read only highlighted parts, and check the visual content to get an idea. Use more visuals in your articles to make them digestible and skimmable for readers.

Whether you promote your product through social media, or through your blog, include visuals in your strategy. This tactic will make your content more

  • Engaging
  • Attractive
  • Relatable
  • Memorable
  • and understandable for your readers.

Visual posts grab readers’ attention, and encourage them to take action. They communicate more information - the data in a small text is more difficult to digest than in a 1-minute video.

There’s a concept called visual blogging which is a type of content blogging that connects with readers using visual content like images, videos, GIFs, infographics, and mini-infographics. These visuals can be extremely entertaining when being used in the right context. They help break up the text and highlight the important points so that readers can scan the article, and understand what it’s about.

Copyright and Commercial Use of Patterns

We don’t mind if you use our patterns to create finished handcrafts, home decor, clothes or art pieces to sell, provided you acknowledge Season of the Stitch on the product label and/or product description. We also appreciate a link back to original product page in our store.

If you aren’t quite sure what this all means, here are a few examples:

It is perfectly fine to:

  • Show your cross stitch project to your friends at embroidery club.
  • Post photographs of your finished cross stitch (or work-in-progress) on social media groups and online forums.
  • Gift finished pieces to loved ones.
  • Share store links to our free patterns on social media, so your friends can download the free patterns for themselves.
  • Stitch one of our designs, then sell it as a finished piece with a clear reference to Season of the Stitch on the product label or product description.
  • Buy a pattern as a gift to someone special.

It is NOT ok to:

  • Print our patterns and give to your family or friends.
  • Share digital copies of our patterns to Facebook Groups or other social media.
  • Photocopy our patterns and distribute at your embroidery club.
  • Email digital copies of our patterns to other people.
  • Use our patterns to make kits or new charts to sell.
